Mussels, Clams and Shrimps in Garlic-Tomato Broth

Oh seafood! A few years back, Bryan and I visited my friends Cecilia and Kelvin. They treated us this amazing seafood dish. The clams and mussels were perfectly cooked. The garlic tomato broth was sweet and light, which was a great dipping sauce for the bread. Bryan and I licked everything clean. After that, I always think about that dish. Recently, I finally asked my friends for the recipe. I made this dish a couple of times already. Bryan and I absolutely love it!

I didn’t start cooking fresh shellfish until last year. It can be a bit intimating and scary for the first or second time, especially seeing them opening, closing and breathing. But don’t be scared. I promise you will get a hang of it very soon. Fresh seafood is so much better than frozen.

Try this seafood dish! I know you will enjoy it!

Tuna Tartare with Baked Wonton Chips

For Bryan and my anniversary dinner, I wanted to make a fancy restaurant style menu. Tuna tartare is just perfect. It is one of the most common appetizers in restaurant. When I stumbled upon this recipe online, I knew that I have to try it. And I am so glad I did! It was so easy! The tartare was fresh and flavorful. Savory and little spicy. It was great with the crispy wonton chips. This is no doubt the best appetizer that I have made so far. Oh, did I mention that there is no cooking at all? Get everything ready ahead of time and toss them all together at the last minute. Tah dah! Great for dinner party!

Salmon with Strawberry Salsa

We are in strawberries season right now. It is hard not to make something with these sweet little strawberries. Salmon with strawberries? Seems a bit odd. The salsa was a bit sweet and sour. It helped to cut the fattiness of the salmon. It was actually a good combination. This is something unique and different for your good old salmon. It is a definitely worth a try!

Baked Shrimp Scampi

My mother-in-law gave Bryan and I some shrimps. And, I wasn’t sure what I can make. I went online and found this wonderful shrimp scampi recipe. There maybe a lot of ingredients, but at least, everything is being cooked in the oven. I don’t have to stand over the stove. The best part about this recipe was the topping. The crispy panko and crunchy shallots gave the dish some texture. All the herbs brought out tons of flavors, and the shrimps shined through. It is a beautiful and delicious dish to please your guests.

Crab Cakes

Bryan and I have discovered the love of crab cakes in recent years. We would always order the crab cakes as appretizer when we are in restaurants. The sad thing is that the crab cakes usually come in two, and they are very small. It is hard to be satisfied. And of course, it is pretty pricey. Now, I have found this very easy crab cake recipe, I can make our own during any time of the years. This recipe can make 8 crab cakes, so Bryan and I don’t have to fight for them anymore. Hmmm….. So delicious!
