Oven-Steamed Mushrooms in Black Pepper Oyster Sauce

I have to thank my sister for this recipe. Couple months ago, Bryan and I hosted a small Hong Kong style BBQ party in the yard. My sister suggested to make this mushroom packets for the party. We did it over the grill and they were fantastic! The mushrooms were juicy, earthy, Unami with a kick of black pepper. Everyone loved them and wished there were more.

I can’t start on the grill every other week just for the mushrooms, so I decide to do the packets in the oven. It turned out perfectly and just as tasty. This is a really great side dish! Those mushroom juice is so good with steamed rice. Nom nom nom…

Grilled Romaine Caesar Salad

Bored of regular cold salad? Yes, I am not always in the mood for cold salad. As Chinese, I am never used to eating raw and cold veggie all the time. We always cook our vegetables. Steam, broil, stir-fry, or braise. You name it, but just rarely eating them raw. This romaine salad is perfect to bring some warmth in the stomach and some tasty char flavors. The citrus caesar dressing is easy to make and lighter than regular caesar dressing. It didn’t over power the grilled flavors on the lettuce, but gave some freshness to the salad instead. Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs

What are you making this 4th of July weekend? Tired of the plain old burger and hot dog? I have an idea for you. Instead of making a good old hot dog, you can try this bacon wrapped hot dog to bring it up a notch. It is still very simple, but there is so much more flavors. The bacon was crispy and smokey, and the pepper and onion brought some sweetness to the hot dog. This recipe wouldn’t take you more than 30 minutes to make. Grilled Pineapple

I tried grilled pineapple in a Brazilian restaurant, and I fall in love with it. Luckily, I found this recipe online. Now, I can make this all the time. It is a great side dish with steak. The sweet pineapple balanced out the meaty steak. It was easy to make and delicious.
